Tournament system – Rapid Chess Mode

How is the tournament system structured and how long does a qualification tournament last?

The contest has been organised according to the “Swiss system”. This type of tournament system, in contrast to a KO system, ensures that no player is eliminated from the tournament, enabling all contestants to play all rounds. There will be 7 “rapid chess” rounds.
Thinking time: 15 minutes / player.
Absolute playing time: 3.5 hours (excluding breaks and ranking announcements)

This pairing system aims to establish all rankings reliably. In all rounds, contestants will play in pairings of the same or a similar number of points.
